The University
Board of Sports
came into existence in the year 1949. The objective of the Board of Sports
is to promote, organize and conduct sports in the Pune University area. It
aims to foster team spirit and sportsmanship of the players; to inculcate &
enhance a sense of discipline and the spirit of true sportsmanship; to
undertake and conduct intercollegiate inter-Zonal, inter-University
tournaments from time to time.
Scheme for Promotion of
sports at College level
Sports Scholarship for Meritorious and Sports Persons
For the promotion of Game Sports at College level; the University Board of
Sports has decided to award sports scholarship to meritorious sports person;
who has achieved medals at All India Inter University Tournament Organized
by the Association of Indian Universities; New Delhi; Since Academic year
2007-08.

Grant for Purchase of Non-consumable Sports Equipment
Under the Quality Improvement programmee
runned under B.C.U.D. The committee has decided to provide financial
assistance to all affiliated College and recognized Institutes of University
of Pune for the Purchases of Non-consumable sports requirements.
This decision has been taken to improve the sports facilities in the College
and to motivate the students to take actual part in sports events.
The financial Provision made for this scheme is 1.5 crore for every academic
year. Every College & Institute is eligible for the grant of Rs. 60,000/-
to Rs. 75,000/- for the Purchase of Non consumable sports equipment
after every alternate year.
Incentive Marks for
Meritorious Sportsman
The University authority, under ordinance O-163 has made provision for
incentive marks for meritorious sportsman every year. The details of which
is available on the ordinance & Statue of University of Pune.
