Continuous Contour Trenches CCT

Watershed management is the need of the hour not only for the soil conservation and ground water conservation, but also it has impact on nation economy and solution for employment problem in draught prone area, there are two critical factors, water and soil in such area main objective is to conserve the soil and water which creases vegetative growth. NSS, University of Pune launched CCT programme for water shade management and digged 1.5-lakh meter of CCT at 52 hillocks by 192 colleges and planted 1200 thousand trees in these trenches. The 120 programme officers were trained by Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation under TOT basis 28 area level camps and four-district campuses were taken to train 6000 NSS Volunteers.
