The research activity is a significant aspect of the department. The thrust areas are medieval and modern literature, recent trends in Marathi literature and feminist studies. The faculty members are always busy in research activity. During the last seven years the faculty members have several publications to their credit. The details of the same are given below. It may be noted that these publications find place in the writings of concerned students. The department has to shoulder the responsibility of registering M.Phil. and Ph.D. students who do not work under the guidance of the faculty members of the department.
