The Department of Environment as a first step was introduced as an optional course in all
the science departments. In view of its immense popularity, a one-year course, B.Sc.
(Applied) was started in 1986, which was subsequently converted into a two-year full
time M. Sc. course. This program covers major aspects of Environment including Water,
Air, Soil and Noise pollution; their control technology; effects of pollution on ecosystem
and management of Environment etc. The Department now a paragon of virtues,
diligently abreast its students with vivid environmental aspects, their benefits and
hazards. The Department also helps to acquire knowledge of Pollution Management and
Ecological Balance Techniques which work shoulder to shoulder on par with
international standards of Environment.
