  2. The Department of Sociology organized a one day International workshop in collaboration with University of South-Eastern Norway on “Work and Labour: Yesterday and Today” on 18th February 2020.
  3. The Department of Sociology & Sane Guruji Rashtriya Smarak have jointly organized a National Conference on 'Feminist Discourses: Theories, Movements, and Culture’ on 28th and 29th November 2019
  4. Department of Sociology, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune Jointly organized a One Day Workshop On “Violence in Childhood: Pedagogical Possibilities “On 8th February, 2019
  5. The Department of Sociology, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune organized 3 day induction and orientation programme for semester I students from 20th August 2019 to 23th August 2019.
  6. The Department of Sociology, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune organized a Lecture Series on “Sociology in India : The Legacy & Future Challenges” for M.A. students and research scholars in the department of Sociology in February 2020 first week.

  12. The Sociology Department Organized a Workshop on ‘Prerequisites of Recruitment: Training for NGO Sector jobs’ 16th September 2019 at 4.00 P.M.
  13. The Department of Sociology, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune organized one day Students’ State Level Conference on “Development, Equity and Social Justice: Sociological Concerns on contemporary issues” for under graduate students in Maharashtra on 15th February 2020.
  14. The Department of Sociology, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune Organized a 4 day Workshop for NET & SET Exam preparation, for MA I & II year students from 30th September 2019 to 4th October 2019.
  15. Department of Sociology Organized a dissemination workshop on 31st July 2019. A Collaborative Research Project with scholars from the University of Hull, U.K. The project is titled ‘Development and the field work in Maharashtra’.
  16. The Department of Sociology Organized one day workshop on developing new courses on sustainable development in November 2019 first week.
  17. The Department of Sociology Organized English Language Remedial Coaching Programme from 7th October, 2019 to 9th November,2019.

  19. Department Of Sociology S.P.Pune University Organized Placement Cell Workshop with Akanksha Foundation 30th January, 2020.
  20. The Department of Sociology S. P. Pune University and National Centre for Advocacy Studies, Pune Organized one day workshop on “Pathways of Rights Based Advocacy in India” on 22nd September 2019 at 1.30 p.m.

Academic Activities: 2017-2018:

  1. University Level workshop on “Critical Pedagogies for Transformative Teaching Environments on 27th July 2017 in the Department of Sociology
  2. A workshop was arranged on ‘mauid`t SaaoQana AaiNa saMpadna kaOSalya’ from 11th Sept.2017 to 16th Sept.2017 in the Department of Sociology.
  3. Department of Sociology conducted training programme for Faculty members and for students under Chikista Setu Initiative on 21st September 2017.
  4. State Level workshop on 29th Sept.2017 in the Department on “Towards a New Paradigm in Teaching and Learning”.(TLC)
  5. State level conference was arranged on 27th & 28th November 2017, on ‘महाराष्ट्रातील समाजशास्त्र:अध्यापन व अध्ययन व्यवहार’. (TLC)
  6. Two day National Conference “Impact of Metro rail on Pune city on 7th and 8th December 2017.
  7. On occasion of Savitribai Phule Birth Anniversary under Chikitsa Setu programme ‘Parents’ meet’(Palak Melava) was arranged with affiliated college teachers and parents on 23rd Jan.2018.
  8. Department of Sociology is organizing the programme titled “Street Play as a Teaching Aid in Sociology” on 12th February 2018. Under this programme a competition for under graduate students is jointly organized with S.P.College, Pune under ‘Chikitsa Setu’ (Network of Sociology teacher under SPPU) on 12th Feb.2018. (TLC)
  9. Screening and Discussion on Ek aur Inquilab Aaya: Lucknow 1920-49 jointly organized with Dept.of Sociology, Dept.of Pol.Science, Dept.of History, Women Studies on 15th Feb.2018

  3. The Department of Sociology arranged Peer Review Workshops on 16th Feb. 2016 and 20th Feb.2016 under CSSH UPE – II.
  4. The Department of Sociology is organized a workshop/seminar on “Reclaiming the body: Gender, Sexuality and Violence” on 29th Feb. 2016 in the Department of Sociology, S.P.Pune University.

The Department of Sociology and Indian Sociological Society (Research Committee -4) organinzed a National Workshop in collaboration with Indian Sociological Society at the Savitribai Phule Pune University held on 2nd February 2015 on Understanding Migration & Diaspora: Cultural Practices, Challenges and Solution.
  2. A one day Workshop on “Interrogating Culture: Collective Actions in Public Sphere “on 17th March 2015.
  3. A one day Workshop on “Redefining Culture: Challenges and New Directions” on 18th March 2015.
  4. The Department of Sociology & CSSH organised a one day workshop on “Social Determinants of Health: Reproductive & Sexual Health” on 26th Sept.2015, from 11.00 a.m. onwards under UPE-II.
