Study Tour :
Apart from the class-room teaching in Pali and Buddhist Studies, the Department organizes academic tours to various Buddhist sites. A study tour is an academic activity, which the Department organizes every year, combing traditional classroom learning and experiential learning to provide adequate understanding of Buddhism. A tour provides to the students a first-hand opportunity to investigate Buddhist geographical sites, Buddhist Culture, Buddhist Art and Architecture, Buddhist paintings, and on the whole a living Buddhist tradition at the original spot of Buddhist heritage. Till date, the Department organized following study tours:

Following facilities are offered to the registered students and research scholars of the Department.
Departmental Library:
The Department has developed a well equipped library containing around 6,000 books, audio-visual CDs and journals from different areas of Pali and Buddhist studies. The said library contains entire Pali Tipitaka (published by Pali Text Society, Vipassana Research Institute, Buddhist Sanskrit Texts series, Tibetan Tangyur and Kangyur), the English, Hindi and Marathi translations, valuable books in Buddhist Philosophy, Art and Architecture, Engaged Buddhism etc. In addition, the library receives several national and international journals on the exchange basis.
Computer Lab:
Under the Infrastructure Strengthening program the Department has set up a Computer Lab with internet facility for registered M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. students.
University Library:
Registered students of M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. are entitled to avail the facilities of the SPPU Central Library (Jayakar Library) as per its rules and regulations.
Hostel Facilities
As per the rules of the SPPU, students of the Department can get the hostel facility in accordance with the allotted quota.
