The Department of Communication Studies @ University of Pune has been in existence since 1990. It was one of the first universities in India to recognize that academic training in Communication means much more than mass communication in general and journalism in particular. The single, most important aspect that makes this course stand apart from the other communication courses in the country is the close linkage between the technical and academic areas of its work, thus facilitating a synergy between research, teaching and production. In addition to efficient Faculty and standard teaching-learning apparatus, The Department houses a plethora of facilities, equipments and instruments that are industry compatible. These include: A fully equipped computer lab, Classrooms, Independent library, digital broadcast cameras, Final Cut Pro: An industry recognized NLE Console with all necessary production equipments.
