Post Graduate Diploma in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Thoughts on India’s National Security
The department conducts Post Graduate Diploma in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Thoughts on subjects like Peace and Security Studies. International Relations, Foreign Policy, Constitutional, Economic Thoughts, Religion, Philosophy, Indian Society, Social Work, Polity, Human Rights and India’s National Security.
It will be a unique diploma and will focus on, “Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Thoughts on India’s National Security”. It is the first academic programme which covers Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Thoughts on Foreign Policy, Diplomatic Policy, Strategic Relations, Indian Internal Security, Global Security etc.
The department admits Indian and International students from all faculties for PG Diploma Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Thoughts on India’s National Security, as per the rules and regulations of SPPU.
The course is conducted in two semesters
Semester - I August to December
Semester - II January to May
Total number of credits: 32 [full time]
Evaluation: is done on the basis of continuous internal assessment for each course. The division of marks for internal and semester end examinations are 50% and 50 % respectively.

M. A. in Social and Public Policy
The Post Graduate course in Social and Public Policy is formulated over four semesters to provide the students a research-oriented teaching and learning environment which gives them a firm foundation in the study of Social and Public Policy, and scope to engage with policy making process.
The goal is to train young professionals whose analytical skills, capacity to adapt, and creativity equip them for positions of responsibility in process of policy making.
The department admits Indian and International students from all faculties for MA in Social and Public Policy, as per the rules and regulations of SPPU.

M. A. in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Thoughts (National Security)
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar is commonly known as social activist, economist, political, philosophical thinker, and historiographer. In Indian foreign policy, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar has a commendable contribution especially on China and Pakistan. To understand his thoughts on India’s foreign policy one can examining his idea of peace and security with reference to China and Pakistan and comparatively with the present security problems with the two countries. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s experience and education in India and abroad added critical and modern dimension to his thought and endeavor, reflected in Constitution of India aptly describing one of his titles as the architecture of constitution.
The structure of the MA course has been organize so as to ensure that there is minimum Core component which students of Department of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Studies shall have to study the basic requirement of the subject This core component revolves around the following major subject areas.
The Post Graduate (MA) course in the Department of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Studies intends to train students to develop in depth understanding about Ambedkar’s thoughts which shall help them to become reflective and critical thinkers, independent learners and specially equipped in interdisciplinary skills for social analysis and research in the field of Security and Strategic Studies.
