The Department of Hindi
was established in
1960.The
faculty consist 2 professors, 2 Readers and 4 lecturers. But now a days
there are 2 Professors (1 selected + 1 CAS) 2 Readers, 1 Lecturers, 1
Lecturer on Contractual basis is working in the Department.
The Department of Hindi
has been well recognized by scholar in the coupling for giving remarkable
contribution in faculty members in the field of India politic, Textual
criticism linguistics seminars, workshops of various levels for the college
and university teacher.

Prof.
Dr. U.S. Upadhyay went to Budapest
University, Hungery under SCCR scheme from 12th Feb.2005 to 31st
Dec.2007.

Prof.
Dr. Tukaram Patil just now honored by
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, and Research Foundation International, Delhi on
5th Sept.2008 and Aum swami (Dr.) Omanand sarswati Rut Amrit Mahotsva,
Chitoudgarh (Rajasthan) on 15 & 16th March 2008 for his services in non
Hindi speakers area. He worked as the Head of the Department from 12th
Feb.2005 to 12th Feb.2008.
The Department has a heritage of great
scholars as the Head of the Department. Dr. Bhagirath Mishra
was the first Head of the Department.
The contribution in the Department as well as Hindi Literature is
remarkable. Dr. Anand prakash Dixit
is an Eminent Professor as the Department. He is a well known great critical
in Hindi Literature. His contribution towards the literature, criticism,
medieval poetry, Modern Hindi of prose poetry was countable. He land down
the working system of the department on sound footing though he didn’t have
many faculty members to help him he did manage the multifarious activities
of the department with the help of visiting faculty. He introduced the M.A.
Prayojanmulak Hindi (Functional Hindi) course in the Department .This
department run the grid course all over India first time.
Prof. Umashankar Upadhyay
gave
the sight linguistics to the department as well as Hindi teachers and
students. He framed the Varian type of syllabus for Universities and foreign
language courses. He arranged many refresher courses and seminars. He
designed the syllabus of credit semester course.
Prof. Tukaram Patil is not only
continuing various actives of the department with the help of colleagues but
he also aspires for the expansion of the department as a Head. He arranged
several national and state level seminars within a short span of time. He
arranged lecture series of eminent scholars of Indian writers, thinkers, and
translators. He started Kriti charch satra
for the students to develop the research, attitude of ability speaking write
and discussions to Hindi. He arranged many SET/NET workshops, study tours
and labor scheme programmers. He purchased books for department library
worth of Rs. 100000/-
Prof. V. N. Bhalerao is now acting as a
Head of the department. He has a sound knowledge of Dalit literature and
trends in modern Hindi Literature & Linguistics. He has working on the
various B.O.S. Comminutes of Nanded, Aurangabad & Solapur University.
Dr. Surekha Zade is serving the
Hindi Department since 1986, teaching M.A., M. Phil. & P. G. Diploma in
Hindi translation. She is a research guide for M. Phil. & Ph. d. In her
illustrious career, She has worked on the editorial board of HSSC, Pune, IIE,
Pune & Balbharti, Pune. She is VC’s nominee on various committees and even
worked on examination/selection committees of other Universities in
Maharashtra & Madhya Pradesh. She has also been felicitated by the Honarary
chief Minister of M.P.
Department running two separate M.A. degree courses and translation Diploma,
ideally speaking there should have been at learn two posts of professors and
course of research assisters in the department. However every faculty member
is not only caring out of the assigned work efficiently but is also
committed is academic growth and development of the department.
Every year the department admits 60 students for M.A.-I Hindi & 30 students
for M.A.-I Prayojanmulak Hindi and the same member to M.A. II for the both
course adequate while giving admissions all the rules of Government of
Maharashtra are observed. The students have to face competition for security
admissions not only students from the state but from the abroad to
once admitted they are assured of quality education valuable guidance and
Nemours forestation for their growth. A good proportion of male and female
students as well as reservation category students from the M.A. Hindi
classes for the M. Phil. Degree course 15 students are admitted every year.
It is needles to say that the admissions are strictly according to merit
candidates eager to join Ph.D. work also rush to the department. Due to the
reticulum of member (maximum 8 students per guide) the Department has to be
very careful while selecting the candidates.
The dept. has complete autonomy as far as
academic programs are concerned. Since the year 2003-04 the semester system
has been introduced. The course contents are revised/modified as per the
impact of globalization of liberalization has been thoroughly considered.
The dept. provides the guidance for NET/SET/SRF students as well as the
facilities of departmental library and computers guidance is also provided
to the students who appear at the MPSC/UPSC exam.
There is
continual interaction with several educational and technical institutions
like various degree college, CQAEA, All India radio, Ordanance Factory,
AUCCA, DPS, Kendriya Hindi Schools, NCL, HEMRL, ARDE.
