The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) is a partner with Tuning India Project that has been funded with support from the European Commission and coordinated by University of Deusto. Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Khare, Director, Office for International Affairs (formerly International Centre), Savitribai Phule Pune University is the Team Leader for Tuning India Project on behalf of SPPU. The Office for International Affairs (formerly International Centre), SPPU puts in continuous efforts to disseminate knowledge. The project aims to contribute to and support the internationalization process in India through building of a framework of comparable, compatible and transparent degree programmes.

The project is aimed to achieve the following specific objectives:

• To apply the Tuning methodology in Indian universities in four subject areas – Law, ICT, Medicine and Teacher Education.
• To develop Tuning Meta-Profiles in four subject areas.
• To develop, implement, monitor and improve degree programmes.
• To promote sub regional and international cooperation between India and EU universities.
