System Administration
IT infrastructure, network, and computing resource management at PUCSD
The PUCSD System Administration team is responsible for managing all computing infrastructure across the department — including computer labs, servers, network, website, and digital services. The team ensures 24×7 availability of computing resources for students and faculty.
Computer Labs
Setup, maintenance, and monitoring of all workstations across multiple computer labs in the department
Network & Internet
Campus LAN, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, firewall, and bandwidth management for the department
Servers
File servers, mail servers, web hosting, backup systems, and departmental cloud infrastructure
Security
Antivirus management, access control, firewall rules, intrusion monitoring, and data protection
Website
Departmental website management, hosting, and updates including the official PUCSD web presence
Software Licenses
Management of academic software licenses, tools, and institutional subscriptions available to students and faculty

- Sharing login credentials with others
- Installing pirated or unlicensed software
- Using resources for non-academic commercial purposes
- Deliberately damaging hardware or software
- Bypassing network security or accessing restricted content
