Features:	The credit system pattern has been implemented for this course. The guidelines for credit system as approved by the University of Pune are followed. The semester system is followed in the course where the students take about 25 credits per semester. Depending upon the availability of faculty, specializations (like Molecular Biology, Genetics, Entomology, Developmental Biology) are offered for the second year of M.Sc. Completion of 100 credits in the form of various theory and practical papers, seminars, project etc. makes the students eligible for the M. Sc. degree. The assessment of the students is done by both, Continuous Internal Assessment during the semester and Semester End Examination for each paper. Each component has an equal weightage in the final grade (50% each).
